SPG Resourcing have exclusively partnered with a IT Consultancy to hire a Technical Delivery Manager.


The Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for leading and managing technology-driven projects from inception to completion. This role requires a unique blend of project management skills and technical expertise to ensure successful project delivery that meets business objectives and acting as the key point of contact between the technical team and stakeholders. The TDM will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Be comfortable leading requirement gathering sessions, translating these to a scope plan and ultimately to a backlog and user stories
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, and risk management strategies.
  • Define project deliverables, milestones, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring activities and deliverables are completed on time, to assist the SLT in adhering to project budgets


Technical Oversight:

  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and technically feasible.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and developers to define technical requirements and solutions that meet project goals.
  • Provide technical direction and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with best practices and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with developers and engineers to resolve challenges promptly.

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing contingency plans to mitigate potential impacts.
  • Monitor and address issues that arise during the project, ensuring they are resolved quickly to minimize disruption.
  • Regularly update the risk register and communicate any significant risks to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, presentations, and documentation as needed.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and align with the original requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Actively participate in testing and validation processes, assessing delivered work against requirements to identify any defects or issues.

Agile and Scrum Practices:

  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Translate project or feature requirements into a thorough and well written backlog, including user stories or Product backlog items with clear acceptance criteria
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring the team focuses on high-value tasks, ensuring the work-load for the team is right-sized and free of blockers

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create a positive team environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and high performance.

BAU Support Operations

  • For your projects and clients, manage the daily operations of the BAU support service requests, and queries are handled efficiently
  • Monitor and report on support performance metrics, including response times, resolution rates, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on technology-driven projects.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end management of complex projects with multiple stakeholders, teams, and deadlines.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), IT infrastructure, and systems integration.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure Devops
  • Proficiency with development tools such as Miro, Figma and standard testing tools
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience leading Agile teams.
  • Experience with taking requirements and translating to product backlogs and user stories
  • Experience in performing quality assurance testing against requirements and acceptance criteria
