Salary: £50,000 - £70,000p/a

A leading infrastructure company based in Leeds is looking for an additional Cost Assurance Specialist to assist with driving forward large-scale projects across Yorkshire and the wider UK. Project portfolio includes transportation, utilities, and urban development initiatives.


Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Cost Assurance Specialist to join our growing team. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and transparency of our projects, working closely with various departments to ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and value.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed reviews of project costs, ensuring accuracy, validity, and compliance with financial policies.
  • Collaborate with project teams to assess budget forecasts, cost trends, and financial risks.
  • Perform audits on third party payments, ensuring value for money and adherence to contract terms.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements in processes and reporting.
  • Prepare and present cost reports, audits, and findings to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that cost assurance processes meet regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Support the commercial team in reviewing bids and tender evaluations from a cost perspective.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a cost assurance, cost management, or finance role within infrastructure or construction sectors.
  • Strong understanding of project finances, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with auditing processes and cost verification procedures.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex financial data.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in cost management, accounting, or a related field (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, RICS) are highly desirable.
