Commercial Counsel

Legal.io is working with a leading travel-tech company seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel for a 4 month contract. This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be based in the UK. Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of procurement and buy-side contracts, including software licenses, SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, and other technology-related contracts. Advise internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, risk assessment, and legal implications of business decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and IT, to ensure alignment and compliance with company policies and objectives. Develop and implement contracting processes and templates to improve efficiency and consistency. Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management and negotiation best practices. Stay current on legal trends and developments in the technology sector, particularly those affecting procurement and contracting practices. Assist with other legal matters as needed, including corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues. Qualifications: 5-7 years of experience as an attorney, with a focus on procurement and buy-side contracting in the technology sector. Strong knowledge of UK contract law and experience with international transactions. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Qualified to practice law in the United Kingdom.
