I am currently looking speak with Chemical Process Engineer to be involved in improvement initiatives in key areas such as process safety, sustainability, reliability, and capital projects for our client in Leeds.
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Pension + Healthcare

Key Responsibilities
- Providing effective leadership to encourage a safety-first environment. Taking action, driving change, and demonstrating continuous improvement with respect to Health and Safety, Environmental, and Process Safety functions.
- Using industry best practice tools, lead Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA) activities into plant performance deviations.
- Lead and support teams throughout the entire process from diagnosis through to resolution.
- Lead process design and specification of process equipment, instrumentation, and control functions. Ensuring that technology meets process requirements and is suitable for service.
- Provide technical oversight and input to site Operations procedures.
- Provide area ownership in the site annual maintenance turnaround. Ensuring activities are managed safely and executed to the required standards. Lead plant pre-start-up checks to ensure a safe, incident-free restart.
Background
- Degree in chemical engineering or equivalent
- SH&E - Knowledge of Safety & Environmental standards, Process Safety Management (PSM) and behavioral based safety.
- Experience working on an operating chemical manufacturing facility desirable.
- Technical knowledge and experience of processes which handle hazardous materials (corrosive, flammable) is beneficial.
- Member of IChemE. Chartership accreditation desirable.
- High level of computer literacy, Microsoft suite and statistical analysis software (e.g. JMP). Experience with use of process historians (E.g. PI or Aspen) desirable.
