Design Lead Architect

A premier AJ100 Architectural Practice situated in a superb contemporary studio space in the heart of Leeds City are currently recruiting for a Design Lead Architect to help drive the creative direction of our clients core projects encompassing Residential, Commercial and Mixed-use Developments.

As Design Lead Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design vision of projects from concept - completion. You will lead a talented team of Architects & Designers, ensuring the highest standards of creativity, functionality and sustainability in their work.

This is a leadership role requiring a strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and the ability to mentor and inspire others. A rare opportunity to work on high profile and diverse projects that make a real impact!

Key Responsibilities for the Design Lead Architect.

• Lead the design process for multiple projects, from initial concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative design solutions that meet project objectives.
• Ensure that designs comply with UK building regulations, sustainability standards, and client requirements.
• Manage and mentor junior architects and designers, fostering a collaborative and creative studio environment.
• Review and provide feedback on design documentation, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and construction techniques to inform design decisions.
• Embrace new technologies and ways of working as the industry evolves the use of Generative design, Al, IT tools such as Enscape and Twinmotion.
• Embrace and explore new technologies and ways of working through the use of tools such as Generative Design, Al, and various software packages, focusing on understanding their outputs and innovative use within the design and delivery process.
• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Present design proposals to clients, stakeholders, and planning authorities.

Qualifications & essential experience for the Design Lead Architect.

• RIBA or ARB accredited architect with 5-10 years of post-qualification experience in the UK.
• Proven experience in leading design projects across various sectors, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations, planning policies, and sustainability standards.
• Proficient in design software such as Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Twinmotion and IT/Generative design tools.
• Familiarity with delivering projects to principles of BIM Level 2, PAS 1192, BS EN ISP (phone number removed).
• Passion for Design Innovation and Sustainability.
• Exceptional communication & presentation Skills.

Salary up to 50,000 per annum plus a comprehensive benefits package, flexible working arrangements to include home working 2 days per week and core flexi-hours policy.
