Job - Senior Security Engineer
Job Type - Full Time Permanent
Salary - £100,000 to £115,000 + Benefits + Discretionary bonus
Location - Leeds (2 days per month in office)
We have an exciting new opportunity our key client in their Security Architecture team for a Senior. Security Engineer. You will support the client during their strategic journey in the modernisation of applications and platforms.
You will need to be able to travel to the clients office in Leeds 2 days per month.
Skills:
- Proficient in conducting security assessments using various techniques, including threat modelling, playbooks, and security patterns, to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Skilled in identifying complex combinations of design weaknesses across different technical environments and providing effective solutions.
- Capable of offering guidance on security best practices, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Competent in applying cybersecurity and privacy principles to align with organizational requirements, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.
- Experienced in integrating and embedding security within the broader software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Able to assess the context of requested changes to maintain or enhance security posture.
Requirements:
- Work with APIs, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and mTLS, with a strong grasp of cybersecurity standards, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Expertise in network access controls, identity and access management, and zero-trust security practices.
- Deep understanding of security domains and their interrelationships in supporting a secure environment.
- Passionate about continuous learning and committed to information security.
- Effective at collaborating across diverse teams and capable of leading initiatives independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to balance security considerations with delivery timelines and business objectives in a practical manner.
- Applies a balanced approach to managing security risks while considering business needs and timelines.
