What They re Looking For
Due to a period of fast growth, my client is seeking to expand its commercial team, with a need for a Quantity Surveyor to help spearhead new projects. They re looking for someone at either an Intermediate or Senior level, previous experience with a house builder is ideal, but not essential, and a commitment to upholding the core values of the company. Projects value from £1M up to £30M, so previous experience handling projects of these sizes is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous / current experience with a house builder (Ideal).
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement processes.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail and Strong communication and negotiation skills
  

Responsibilities

• Manage all costs related to residential construction projects, from initial calculations to the final figures.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Oversee project costs, ensuring they are managed within budget.
• Conduct cost analysis and perform risk management tasks.
• Provide advice on contractual claims and procurement strategies.
• Work closely with site managers and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Manage the procurement process, including subcontractor selection and performance management.
• Assist in the valuation of work done on-site and certify payments.
