The Company

A regional main construction contractor with up to 40 years in the industry, as a business they have an extensive order book generating a turnover in excess of 100m. Portfolio and order book spanning the UK which has allowed them to become a market leader in the construction industry. They hold a proven track record of delivering award-winning developments for a variety of clients within Public Sector, Residential & Leisure.

The Project

As a highly skilled Project Manager, you will oversee a range of projects across multiple sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, MoD / MoJ and leisure with build values up to 30m. You will coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results, ensuring that the projects are delivered on time, in budget and to specification.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

  • CSCS Card
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

  • History of working as a Project Manager, or in a similar position, on new build / refurbishment projects with build values up to 30m +
  • Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working in a similar position for a leading contractor or subcontractor

The Role

  • Reporting to: Contracts Manager

Duties

  • Ordering materials
  • Conduct safety inspections
  • Reporting to the Contracts Manager
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members
  • Track and handle risks, modifying plans as necessary
  • Recognise potential project risks and create strategies to mitigate them
  • Identify and correct any discrepancies in the budget, adjusting as required
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Establish milestones and deadlines, ensuring all tasks are properly scheduled
  • Communicate changes to all relevant stakeholders and adjust plans accordingly
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled and resolve any issues that emerge
  • Implement quality control processes and conduct regular inspections and reviews
  • Oversee and distribute project resources, including staff, equipment, and materials
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and records
  • Verify all project objectives were met and provide recommendations for future projects
  • Develop and oversee project budgets, monitor expenditures, and maintain financial control
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet the established quality standards and specifications
  • Supervise resources, ensuring they are utilized efficiently and effectively to achieve project goals
  • Promote a collaborative and effective team environment, promptly addressing any conflicts or issues
  • Guide, motivate, and supervise project teams, assigning tasks based on individual skills and expertise
  • Monitor project performance and progress, implementing necessary changes to keep the project on track
  • Act as the main contact for stakeholders, updating them on project progress and addressing any concerns
  • Schedule regular meetings and oversee communication to enhance transparency and support collaboration
  • Handle any changes to the project scope, timeline, or budget, ensuring they are documented and approved
  • Offer leadership and direction to project teams, encourage collaboration, and inspire team members to reach project objectives
  • Create and deliver regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting major accomplishments and any challenges faced
  • Supervise the execution of project tasks and activities, ensuring they are finished on schedule and within the defined scope
