Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The SD will be expected to:

Attend daily handover at 9am, lead on or support one of the ACs in ward reviews, prescribe, complete MHA reports and attend hearings to give evidence, offer supervision to the junior doctors and MDT, provide help with ward admin eg discharge summaries when needed, use 2 SPA sessions outside of DCC tasks, assessment of new admissions and planning of discharges, liaison with other professionals as necessary, s12 work on the ward and to attend weekly teaching and attend supervision with the Consultant Psychiatrist as planned.

Person specification

Essential criteria:

  • MBChB; s12 approval or commitment to obtain within 3 months

Experience

Essential criteria

  • 4 years full time equivalent as a doctor of which 2years fulltime equivalent must have been in psychiatry
  • Experience in WAA IP psychiatry

Skills

Essential criteria

  • Evidence on application of good communication skills
  • Evidence of experience of QIP/service development an application
