Job Requirements/Description

The Course Leader's main objective is to inspire students to engage proactively in their learning and to develop as both audio practitioners and employable professionals, sharing timely and relevant feedback with them on their progress. Lecturers in the Bristol faculty aim to provide a relevant link for students between knowledge and current industry practice, fostering a culture of questioning, reflection and evaluation. The Course Leader aims to ensure this through excellent course management, administration, teaching and tutorial guidance, curriculum development, and campus-related activities.

Our Music and Sound for Film and TV and Sound Design courses provide students with an opportunity to explore and develop a diverse range of skills that are in high demand in the related industries. Critically exploring approaches to composition and sound design using digital audio workstations, delving into the creative techniques used to sculpt their own sonic signature, they work within our professional recording studio complex and learn about object-based audio, surround sound, creative coding, middleware integration and Dolby Atmos. With a heavy focus on the industry and plenty of real-world opportunities, they study and practice the process of orchestration and post-production including location recording, ADR, mixing, and more. Students are given a significant insight into a wide variety of techniques and methodologies and encouraged to incorporate them into their practice or modify and develop their new methodologies.
