Public Relations Specialist

BDS Recruitment are recruiting for a Public Relations Specialist for a leading housing association with offices across the UK.

This will be a Hybrid position with some travel into one of the offices, Bradford, Burnley, Camberley, Peterborough or Stockton for team meetings and training, and also travel to internal and external events.

Working closely with the External Affairs specialist you will be required to have an understanding of the impact of public affairs and will monitor external events to respond accordingly with a view to find opportunities to build the company's profile in the media.

The role will also include but not be limited to:

• Utilise your excellent copyrighting skills to create quality content for multiple channels
• Building relationships with all teams across the organisation to identify areas of opportunity and risk
• Manage media relationships
• Managing the press office and responding to enquiries

The candidate:

• Sound PR and media relations experience
• Proven ability to develop, implement and execute successful PR campaigns
• Demonstrable crisis management and recovery experience
• Experience of identifying reputational risk issues
• Press office management
• Strong working knowledge of media monitoring and database platforms
• Strong working knowledge of external affairs, political engagement and influencing at a local and national level
• Experience in the sector or similar not for profit organisations is advantageous.
