Location: Flexible, Leeds based, LS10 1NE minimum 2/3 days in the office

Our focus is development consultancy, and we operate across four broad sectors focusing on financial viability, development management, planning consultancy and regeneration.

This opportunity will cover all our service lines with a primary focus on development management and financial viability.

We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate experience of development management with a good understanding of planning, financial viability, and the functionality of multi-disciplinary teams, who is personable and able to form strong relationships with Clients.

We are currently a small team with aspirations to expand which means there will be opportunities for direct contact with clients from day 1 and quick career progression.

As our Development Surveyor you will be responsible for:

• Support in the managing of multi-disciplinary project teams and reporting back to Clients;
• Assessing development sites in the context of planning and financial viability;
• Arranging and attending pre-application meetings with Local Authorities;
• Collating relevant documents and submission material required for planning applications;
• Supporting in the managing of relationships with Local Authority case officers;
• Support in the engaging in consultation exercises with Local Authority councillors, politicians and the local community;
• Preparing cash flow models for development proposals;
• Preparing residual appraisals for development schemes;
• Preparing financial viability appraisals (FVA) and development appraisals using relevant software;
• Attending project team meetings;
• Support in negotiation with parties in regard of FVAs submitted in support of planning applications
• Supporting Clients during Planning Appeals.

What We Are Looking For:

• 1 to 3 years experience in surveying or equivalent role;
• Knowledge and understanding of the property development industry;
• Knowledge and understanding of the planning process;
• MRICS or MRTPI preferred qualification;
• Understanding of Argus software or equivalent such as ProDev or ProVal;
• Proficient across all Microsoft Office platforms;
• Excellent communication analytical and organisational skills;
• Experience of working within a consultancy or client organisation;
• Confident and able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and relevant members of project teams;
• Ability to clearly articulate project needs on a scheme by scheme basis;
• Ability to effectively manage time and ensure deadlines are achieved;
• Commitment, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic;
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
